Do you ever just sit back and marvel at God’s direction?

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Last year I taught computer classes at a private school. That experience taught me so much about computers that I had never realized, even after using them as an administrative assistant for over twenty years. And then this year I added teaching ESL classes to my schedule, which was yet another insightful experience. I love the English language and am definitely a word “nerd” at heart, but teaching ESL caused me to dig into the “whys” as the I-20 students questioned and wanted to understand the reasons behind the rules most of us have just grown up to accept. The English language makes more sense to me now than ever before! I am thankful for both of these experiences that stretched me in areas I already loved and thought I had experienced quite extensively. Do you ever just sit back and marvel at God’s direction?

While I have been thoroughly blessed by these past opportunities, I am also excited for the open door to pursue my editorial business “full-time” beginning this June. Adding more computer knowledge and a deeper understanding of grammar to my other degrees and life experiences is like the icing on the cake. I’m thankful to my nephew and his wife who created a beautiful website for me during the past year. I’m so thankful for a God who orchestrates life—I’m so convinced of it!! Since Christmas I’ve edited an e-book for a businessman, a counseling manual (what a huge blessing!), a deep theological book on Revelation for a professor, and a biography of a dear missionary’s life. These manuscripts happened in the span of three months, allowing me to purchase a new XPS computer, iPhone, and FreshBooks to finish setting up the infrastructure of my home office. I’m all set to roll up my sleeves for what the Lord has enabled me to do.

Knowing that God does not waste any experience or opportunity, I am thankful to him and am able to trust him all the more in each new step. Many people ask me what editorial services I offer with Sarah Hayhurst Editorial LLC, and that’s a good question to answer here! I will also include pertinent client testimonials related to the services I provide, and, of course, much more information is available on my website: sarahhayhurst.com.
